The products I used in europe were of better quality with much easier adjustment and more adjustments.Setting spring tension is difficult and I would recommend using goggles as the little spigot can fly all over the place.In one pack you get two hinges and this is not clear in the pictures etc.
Door thickness is limited about 1 inch I thinks so some joinery may be required to fit to thicker doors. Plastic covers would be nice so clothes etc. cannot get caught in hinge - but covers can be made from wood.

National Mfg. N142067 Loose-Pin Light Narrow Hinge Review

The National Mfg. 142067 hinge is described in the catalog and on its packaging as a removable pin hinge. It's not. Someone screwed up. It's a fixed pin. I bought and returned three pairs of them. I destroyed one trying to remove the pin. At the hardware store the owner destroyed another one. I phoned Stanley (they own National) and they read me the catalog description. It's wrong. Now one person there knows and he's not in position to do anything about it. If you meet a Stanley jobber, tell him. If enough people know, it might eventually get fixed.

Blum Blumotion Hinge Mount For Straight Arm Hinge Review

The BluMotion from Blum is a very neat device.I would recommend it wholely.I ordered 19 of them to mount on my standard cabinet hinges in the kitchen and bathrooms.I was fortunate that my hinges were made by Blum so the BluMotion was compatible with no problems.The product works as advertised.They recommend using two per door for many doors and three per door for others.I have used only one per door for all doors except one which closes particularly hard.They work like a charm and dampen the closing in a very controlled manner.Installation and removal is super easy, so if they break I can replace them at low cost per unit.I don't expect them to break since all the pieces look and feel like they will last.I was amazed at the ease of installation - from opening the box to completeing 19 installations took about 20 minutes total.

The suppliers (Woodworkers Hardware# exceeded expectations: the order was placed and a delivery estimate was provided.The delivery occurred 2 days before the start of the expected delivery date.It got here fast! Very happy with them.I did find a lower price #2.11 per BluMotion unit) at another online store, but Amazon got the sale because the price was competitive and the website I could actually trust :).

Negatives: it was unclear when researching the product if they would be compatible with my hinges.The hinges I have are not labeled with a product serial number.The product documentation for the BluMotion makes statements similar to "for european hinges".I still don't know what a european hinge is, but apparently mine are compatible.The additional confusion was the photos in the documentation show hinges which do not look like mine, leading to additional uncertainty.Removing the confusion would have made the initial purchase decision easier.For example what measurements the hinge must conform to in order for the BluMotion to attach to it.

Overall I think 5 out of 5 starts is warrented.The product itself is great.The purchasing experience on Amazon was great.The delivery experience was great.Job well done folks.

To dismount a door using this hinge is very easy, just press a clip at the end of the hinge and the doors falls off. Replacing the door is just as easy, just make contact with the fixed end and clip in place without any adjustment needed once all was originally set in place. A wonderful invention for the cabinet maker.

C.R. LAURENCE K5132 CRL Storm Door Hinge Pins for Croft Doors Review

These were exactly what I needed to replace the ones that had broken on my old storm door, and I was unable to find them at all locally.

The only complaint I have is with the instructions.The package stated "Easy to follow instructions enclosed", however they were perhaps too easy since it just said "Remove old pins and replace with new".Unfortunately the way the door is designed it is nowhere near as simple as that, and I'm usually good at figuring things out.After pondering and tinkering for about an hour, I finally pushed one end of the pins into the door hinges, then used vice grips to snap the other end into the frame hinges.Not sure if that was the correct way or not, but it sort of worked and the door is hanging again.More detailed instructions would have been greatly appreciated!

When installing these, make sure you hook the back end of the clip first and then push the spring back to get the other side of the clip to go in. KV Euro-Tray Hinge For Sink Front Review

They look well built and you can adjust how far the door will open, so that saves you having to build-in a stop. Since the sink is usually sitting behind these hinges it is difficult to temp mount them and see how things will lay out. I am on my 4th set of drilled holes and I still don't like how it lays out. A simple instruction on what the set-back should be and how far in on the doors to mount them would have saved me a lot of work. The instructions shipped with the hinges are wishful thinking.

Youngdale 1/4" Overlay Self Closing Knife Hinge For 1/2" Minimum Thickness Door Antique Brass Review

I have used these hinges on many doors, both inset and overlay, for cabinets and furniture and had no failures. A slot must be cut in the door that is 25/32" deep and 9/16" long. Therefore ifyou are using a frame and panel door the stile should be at least 2" wide for strength and to hide the hinge for glass insets. I have used them on 1-1/2" stiles and had no failures but I am uneasy about weakening the stile so much at the slot on a 3/4" door. Thicker doors will provide more strength. I have cut the slots on a table saw (overlay) and hand chopped them for more control on 3/8's inset doors with 1/1/2" stiles. Youngdale has some installation tools on it's website that seem to have been developed by cabinet shops. In spite of my concerns about strength I continue to use them because of relatively low cost and low external profile. However, I suspect I will switch to euro hinges in the future for frame and panel doors if I can find them at the right price.

Classic Engineering 10800 Boring Jig Kit Review

Dozens of doors--it never fails. Handles all common backsets and diameters.
Do order the smaller-diameter spade bits for the edge bore. The standard 1" is a bit large for some lock fronts. 15/16" and 7/8" are available from boringjigs.com, Classic Engineering's website. Also available: carbide bits for cross boring.
The bits are actually driven by the drill via a quick disconnect adapter. You chuck up the adapter and then hook up to the bits, both of which have to mounted into the jig before you mount the jig onto the door. Get the adapter with the 1/2" shaft. The 3/8" shaft can do the job but there is a lot of torque cutting a 2-1/8" lock bore and the 3/8" adapter shaft can bend. The 1/2" adapter shaft is very stout.
This device works from the edge and one side. You don't have to bore from both sides of the door. Also, bore the edge bore to full depth first. That way there is less material for the 2-1/8" bit to remove and it goes faster.
I like to use my 1/2" Milwaukee Hole-Hawg drill. The two speeds and excellent power really go. High speed for the edge bore, low for the cross bore.
